TRR356 science podcast ‘Plants and their microcosm’

The new science podcast ‘Plants and their microcosm’ is dedicated to the fascinating relationships between plants and microorganisms as well as the role of genetic diversity. It focuses on current research projects of the Collaborative Research Centre TRR356 ‘Biotic Interactions of Plants’. Scientists provide insights into their work, report on everyday laboratory life and talk about discoveries and careers in plant research.

The podcast is hosted by Dr. Dagmar Hann, biologist at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. ‘Plants and their microcosm’ is part of the TRR356 public outreach project Ö01 Outreach. New episodes are released every fortnight.
The melody for the podcast comes from Nora Eifler, a structural biologist who builds a special bridge between science and music. Protein sequences serve as the basis for her compositions: the order of the amino acids is translated into chord sequences - such as E - D - F - A. This creates melodies that make biochemical structures audible.
